A while back on another forum, I suggested an idea to help students (and old guys too) learn and practice threshold and trail braking. It involves making two simple tracks, a flat 4 cornered oval for Threshold braking, and a two lane straight flat strip with brake boxes for doing threshold braking, where students can practice these braking techniques on the fly over and over again.
